This styled wedding shoot was designed when thinking about a classic urban bride. It started with a beautiful industrial venue in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. A hidden gem and perfect location for a modern bride who loves a bit of vintage. Pierpont Place is both modern and romantic and ready to serve any bride. The Event Manager, Taylor, was absolutely a dream to work with. She was so helpful and kind.
The color theme of Emerald & Gold took on a personality of it’s own with the ingenious invitation design by Rose Blossom Prints. With a modern and classic twist to old Hollywood, the wedding started to take shape. To soften the structural design of the invitations and industrial vibe from the venue, the floral design helped bring whimsy and romance. Hiring a designer to make your wedding invitations is such a great idea. Rebecca, owner and designer of Rose Blossom Prints, listened to my ramblings of what I thought I wanted and created a design that I couldn’t have come up with on my own. She took what was in my head and made it 1000x better!
Blushing Rose Floral designed the venue to perfection. Adorning a jaw-dropping centerpiece to the bride and groom’s table was nothing short of excellence. Adding a few drops of pink to our emerald and gold color scheme was the crowning jewel.
The bridal gown was absolutely exquisite on Alayna our beautiful newlywed. Having a fitted, long sleeved gown was crucial to the overall look of the styled wedding. Her groom wore a custom handmade bowtie from a local seamstress and looked quite dashing.
Having a bridesmaid at the styled shoot was important to tell the color story. Her emerald gown and gold hair pieces brought the color scheme to the bridal party.
All the tiny details were provided by Voulez Jewelry and Sparrow Station. Handmade jewelry and accessories from local vendors made all the difference. I especially loved the hair pieces the bride and bridesmaid wore. They perfectly described the vibe and style of the whole day–a modern twist on something vintage and beautiful. I love buying from small business owners. It’s so easy to drive to your nearest Target or Charming Charlies and buy some inexpensive jewelry. I feel much more satisfied and grateful for the pieces I buy from small shops. I know they made it my hand and each one is slightly different.
Let’s talk about cake! Ivory Layers Cakery made an elegant fondant cake for our bride and groom. It’s three tiers were wrapped in emerald gold ribbon. The wedding cake I had at my wedding (7 years ago…) looked pretty but did not taste as amazing. Here’s the thing, Ivory Layers Cakery cakes look amazing and taste even better! Kacie, the owner and baker, has perfected her recipes and the cakes she designs and bakes taste like heaven.
